The first thing that comes to tour mind on the first day of your college, “how will the crowd be?”, “Will I fit in?” “Girls/ Boys?”  And Bam! U forgot your college id card, or you did something foolish that makes you the laughing stock! Well, it comes down to being in the moment people. We all end up getting matured.
2.       Your friends will part ways, some to medical colleges, some to law schools, travelling to different cities and even abroad. You have to unfortunately bid goodbye to all of them. You will definitely be in touch but the aura will be lost somewhere amidst your differences..
3.       “Wake up, its exam today”                                                                                                                    unlike school, no one in college reminds you time and again of your examination.  For professors in college, it goes without saying, that you are meant to know
4.       I-N-T-E-R-N-S-H-I-P-S. The one word you will hear more than often. Building up your resume will become your prime focus. College is one time when vacation are no longer, basking under the sun or luxuriating yourself to the best holiday destination. It means working hours long and unfortunately not even get paid.
5.       And then comes the fun part, the things that would make you love the college life, the parties, bunking classes, late movies night, night outs, and friends. Let the college answer it for you.
Well, Hope it’s a journey worth your ride

“Health is Wealth”

The popular saying  "health is wealth" gives a large meaning to our life as health is considered valuable and precious for every individual. Good health means not only a state of absence of disease in the body but a complete physical, mental, social as well as spiritual well being of an individual.

A very important thing one needs to remember for a healthy living is the fact that we must ‘eat to live and not live to eat’. Diet plays an extremely important part in ones wellbeing. Unhealthy food sure is a treat for your taste buds but have you thought about what it does to your body?
Lets give some food for thought. How many of us actually lead a healthy life?

The Buried Life…

Ever wonder that if nothing in the world were impossible, what would you do?

Well, watch ‘The Buried Life.’ Four friends Jonnie, Duncan, Dave and Ben set out on a journey that only few dare to even dream of. These lads from Canada make a bucket list of 100 things to do before they die. It has all kinds of things from attending a party at the Playboy mansion to help deliver a baby to heck, even play ball with the president.

In the spring of 2006, the world of Jonnie was torn apart by the divorce of his parents. His best friend, Duncan needed purpose, Ben was fed up of his typical college jock life and wanted to change the world and Dave needed a boost. It was at this point that these four ambitious lads were all facing their lows in life but unlike others they weren’t disheartened or depressed but, they actually managed to come up with an idea that would change their lives forever.

“If four punks from Victoria, British Columbia, could make it this far, imagine what we could all do together.” – Jonnie Penn says after playing ball with the President of the United States of America.

7 reasons to why everyone is talking about The Game of Thrones. Are you sick of the hype? Don’t understand why everyone around you talks about it like it is the greatest thing ever? Here’s why:

1. The Power Plays
Game of Thrones isn’t about castles or dragons or sword fighting. It’s about power. If you liked The West Wing or House of Cards–and were willing to make the effort to differentiate among a half a dozen balding middle-aged white guys in nice suits—you’ll love Game of Thrones, too.
It’s about the struggle for the Iron Throne and the seven kingdoms that come with it. And sure, there are elaborate and entertaining battles fought by guys in armor, but just as often the balance of power is swung not by a broadsword but by a backroom deal. Shakespeare fared pretty well with similar material.
The main antagonists are two rival families, the Starks and the Lannisters (headed by Boy King Joffrey who is one of the most gloriously depraved characters in television history.) But there are a variety of contenders and disrupters around the fringes who don’t always play by the rules,  including one rapidly rising power with, yes, Dragons. If this sounds a little like modern geopolitics, you’re right.
Look past the courtly pleasantries, and what’s left is smart and ruthless players who’ll stop at nothing to advance their claim to the throne even if that means knocking a rival out of it.

2. Nudity
Boys love porn. Guess what, girls love porn too. Let’s be honest, Game of Thrones is soft porn.Who wouldn’t like to watch a “costume drama” which validates your naughty side? After all, you are actually only watching an accomplished television show. Barely an episode goes by where there isn’t a full frontal nude scene from a cast member (both female and male). Not to mention brothel orgies, incestuous relationships and medieval romps.
3. Violence
The show is often criticised for violence. It is graphic and unexpected. It is the surprise coupled with excess that leads to shock. Guess what it also leads to? A direct access to your emotional involvement. It is a well-known inference that humans are sadistic enough to dig violence, especially when they are spectators and not the victims. Violence commands your attention, instead of asking for it. This is a no holds barred TV show and it’s gore galore in the Seven Kingdoms. Beheadings, torture, sword battles, crossbow deaths, burning people alive, executions – you name it, Game of Thrones will show it. So, if the sight of blood makes you feel queasy, be prepared to watch a large chunk of the show through parted fingers.

4. Multiple parallels
Confusion is the new brain massage. Everybody likes solving puzzles. Multiple plotlines and characters are an easy method of increasing curiosity. Giving you numerous options till you pick one and actually end up caring.

5. Darkness
In the show, there is a dark tone throughout and every character speaks their dialogues with a grave perpetual foreboding. Under different circumstances, Game of Thrones would have had attracted a niche audience, but it has now become a bonafide fad.
6. The Emotions
Love, hate, pride, rage, devotion, fear – The Game of Thrones Series is definitely meant to leave a strong impression on its viewers! Your favorite characters are not invincible and the directors will not spare them so you could go to bed happy, dreaming of true knights, romance and pretty maids. It’s real as it can be, both tainted and pure, with all these raw emotions invading your senses until you’re not sure who to love and who to hate.

7. Dragons
And, in closing, I will leave you with this:

Kolkata through a Single Picture

A picture is worth a thousand words, or so they say. If I had to describe Kolkata in as many words, I couldn’t do it justice. Kolkata is much more than just a metropolis in India, home to Victoria Memorial, people crossing the street wily-nily, a hub for the creative and artistic, a place that commerce and industry left behind, a place of extreme passion and “adda-bazi” – it is Cal! But if I had just one picture in which to tell somebody about this marvelous city, which one should I pick? How should I sum up Kolkata in a single picture? The stunning view from the racecourse, the unknown fountain in the heart of the city, a busy street section representing everyday life, the infamous Kolkata buses that ferry lakhs of people every day, or the passion at Eden Gardens? If you had the choice, which picture would you choose?

What was that Restaurant she recommended again?

Ever have trouble remembering recommendations from friends? Wish you could remember their suggestions when you need them?

When do people make recommendations? When they've just had a great experience. The problem for you however is that you're not ready for it! My friend recommended a great Pizza place to me three months ago. But when I was looking for a good place to go the other night, I couldn't remember that she had recommended a pizza place, let alone the name of the place. It would have been ideal if she had recommended it to me when I was looking for a place to go.

Ah, that's right. Now I can get recommendations when I want them so that I can actually remember them and try them out. How? Through RipplIt.

Why did I create RipplIt?

The idea behind RipplIt is to try and harness the power of social media and social interactions to understand people’s motivations and preferences and to support organizations that strengthen and build prosperous communities. All services rendered or activities supported by RipplIt are based on the goal of harnessing the power of social responsibility and ownership to help build virtual or real communities that benefit people. These organizations may be charitable or profitable in nature, but must enrich the lives of the people they serve. RipplIt is designed to help these organizations market themselves and be successful amongst their target consumers by providing affordable services that are based on measuring and enhancing economic and emotional value. Whether you want to promote a cause for childhood literacy or your local watering hole, each helps build the community in its own way and RipplIt can help.

The fundamental principle behind the services of RipplIt is based on how people influence each other and what motivates them to do so. RipplIt will provide these services by focusing on efforts that are local to the community they serve. For example, communities may be geographic in nature, and it is imperative for RipplIt to treat each location as a separate community and tailor its services and activities accordingly. People react and have different emotional and economic currency associated to specific causes or communities. It is important that RipplIt align itself accordingly to provide the best possible services. Thus, the nature of the services offered is based on grass-root campaigns that influence word-of-mouth amongst the consumers of our customers. RipplIt in Chicago, USA will be different from RipplIt in Kolkata, India. People, languages, customs, culture, and needs are different - thus the only way for RipplIt to be successful is to embrace and inculcate them. This may not necessarily be reflected in the screens, but in the promotion and marketing activities taken up.

Additionally, it is important that RipplIt support communities or causes in forms that are more than just monetary. We need to provide our own time and energy to ensure that these causes gain emotional credence with their stakeholders which leads to stronger, deeper, and more meaningful connections. We will actively engage and solicit the support of our users to participate in and take greater ownership of their communities and causes. RipplIt will focus on strengthening the social aspects and connections within the social networks in order to improve and build better communities through an integrative approach from all its stakeholders. If we believe in childhood literacy, then simply providing money isn't enough. It also requires time and effort, because that is the only way we will remain connected and committed to these important causes. Similarly, simply visiting a restaurant you like and spending money there isn't enough. Support them by also recommending it to your friends. By introducing a strong sense of social into the network, more than just posts and games, we can strengthen our communities and improve the future. Progress doesn't come from governments or from some external entity. It can only come from us - the people. RipplIt is simply aimed at facilitating that fundamental concept of social interaction and responsibility.

So, please sign up and get your friends to sign up. Ask them for recommendations and recommend options to them as well. And share your thoughts and opinions with us - feedback is always welcome.
